It’s very common that CODAs struggle to get their deaf parents to understand their passion for music. I put my hand on the piano to feel the vibration of the piano and I made that connection to my daughter. So out of curiosity, I walked up to the piano to check on her. When I’m walking by, I see her practicing the piano. She’s 16-years-old and sometimes I see her playing music. I have a daughter in real life who is a CODA. I read that hearkens back to a personal moment for you. One of my favorites is the scene with Emilia where she sings for you and you feel her neck vibrations. And then he’s a lot of very intense, emotional scenes you have to play. One of my favorite parts about Frank as a character is you have those sillier more ridiculous moments.
